The face of a Tahitian Vahine is the bed rock for a waterfall. Painted on a Tahitian print, the floral motifs merge to become a head dress/island scape. In the head dress I have painted a classic Gaugin image of an islander drinking from a natural spring, after his painting 'Pape Moe'. The spring cascades down the composition becoming the tears of the Vahine (woman) symbolising not only the scarcity of water, but the plight of 'Mother nature'.
